You are a sole trader
Working with an agency in Queensland makes you an independent contractor, not an employee. That means you handle your own tax, you register an ABN, and you file an annual return as a sole trader. The agency does not withhold PAYG, does not contribute super, does not issue a group certificate.

ABN application, what to put on the form
ABN registration is free and takes about 10 minutes at abr.gov.au. The form asks for the business activity. You do not need to write “escort”. Most accountants recommend:
- “Personal services”
- “Companionship services”
- “Entertainment services”
- “Consulting” (very broad, very common)
The ABN listing is public-searchable. Your tax return is private. The discretion of a broader business description on the ABN side is a personal preference, not a legal requirement.
Bank account separation
Open a separate transaction account specifically for the work income. Deposit cash weekly (not daily, banks notice patterns). Pay business expenses from this account. Pay yourself by transfer to your personal account.

- Salon and grooming for work appointments (a portion of regular grooming)
- Phone bill (work portion)
- Travel between bookings (rideshare, taxi, mileage)
- Professional services (accountant, legal advice, business advisor)
- Education and skills development relevant to the work
